Chiropractic Adjustments
Dr. Hand is experienced in a variety of adjustment techniques including: traditional manual manipulation, Activator Methods, drop table technique, and flexion/distraction mobilization. He applies the appropriate and most effective technique based upon the patient’s clinical needs and greatest comfort. He has seen great success with all of these techniques. Chiropractic adjustments may be applied to any joint in the body from the back or neck to shoulders, elbows, wrists, ankles and feet. These carefully provided adjustments help to improve range of motion, reduce pain and inflammation, reduce pinched nerves, stimulate circulation, and promote healing and improved function.
Massage Therapy
Our staff of massage therapists are available seven days per week. Shelli Choate, LMT and Brooke LeClaire, LMT have over thirty-five years of combined experience and are adept at a variety of techniques from general relaxation to deep therapeutic massage. Massage provides great benefit as a stand-alone therapy and as a complement to chiropractic care. Massage is a great way to reduce muscle tension and spasms, stimulate circulation, reduce scar tissue, promote healing, and just relax. Have a single wonderful one hour massage, or purchase a group of massages at a discounted rate.

On-site X-ray Examination
While not every patient needs x-rays, they can be helpful in providing the most accurate diagnosis and develop the most effective treatment for patients. Dr. Hand personally takes the x-rays as necessary and reads them within minutes of his examination. Subsequently he reviews them with the patient so that they may better understand their condition.

Spinal Decompression Therapy
A highly advanced technology for the non-surgical management of disc injuries in the neck and low back, including nerve impingement, sciatica, facet syndromes, failed back surgery and other conditions.

Thousands of patients across the country have experienced the benefits of this conservative treatment.
Research indicates that the discs in the spine may be responsible for a significant percentage of low back, neck, leg, and arm pain. Trauma or spinal degeneration can cause weakening or tearing of the outer wall of a disc, allowing the gelatinous material in the center to pressure adjacent nerves. This can cause both localized pain as well as pain radiating to extremities. Since discs have very little direct blood supply, they tend to heal poorly.
There is a growing body of research proving the positive effects of decompression traction on discs.

The goal of spinal decompression therapy is two fold: Biomechanical and nutritional. Carefully controlled traction is applied to stretch ligaments and the outer fibers of the disc. This pushes the bulging portion of the disc back toward the center, removing pressure from sensitive nerves. The rhythmic pumping of the disc brings nutrient-rich blood and important healing cells to the area to facilitate repair.

The Triton DTS Decompression Table
At Hand Chiropractic, Inc., spinal decompression is performed on a specialized table called the Triton DTS, the latest innovation in decompression traction technology from Chattanooga Group. Decompression traction is applied slowly and gently by computer control, fully customized for each individual. With the patient lying comfortably on the table, the doctor can apply this therapy to the neck or the low back. The computer controlled traction device is then programmed to produce a gently progressive distraction of the spinal vertebrae and discs. With a series of such treatments, most patients experience a significant reduction or even elimination of symptoms, as discs and nerves undergo healing.
Important note: Only clinically appropriate patients are candidates for this therapy. The patient's history, the doctor's physical evaluation, and sometimes other diagnostic tests will determine eligibility.
